The IF Charter
- All members will act in a professional manner at all times; as a minimum standard, HMRC’s guidelines on agent professionalism must be met.
- All prospective members will be subject to an independent review of their systems and processes before admission and must meet the minimum entry requirements
- All members will be subject to a repeat review every three years to ensure compliance
- All members are expected to uphold the aims of the IF
- Anonymised data will be shared on a quarterly basis to gather statistics regarding compliance checks, claims-processing timescales etc
- Meetings will be held regularly to discuss the business of the IF including best practice, case histories etc
- The IF will establish a disciplinary committee which will uphold the standards of professional conduct
- The IF will establish a committee to promote the aims of the organisation through a website, social media, meetings and lobbying
- The IF will be not for profit, electing officers to act on behalf of its members
- The IF will provide news circulars, support and advice to members to ensure best practice is maintained; in time this may also lead to training and professional qualifications
